Just West of Hythe, the Hythe Motor Speedway provides stock car racing on a 3/8 paved, oval racetrack, CASCAR-rated -- features modified, street stock, starter stock, sportsman and sprint competitions.  Races begin in May and end September 30th.

Spring Lake Recreational Park -- 16 km north of Hythe, a spring fed lake, over 90 feet deep, includes boat launch, camp sites on loop road, fire pits & firewood, picnic tables, community kitchen, fresh well water, man-made beach and play ground, hiking trails around lake, change rooms.

Local recreation possibilities include the full range of:

Golfing in the vicinity of Hythe at Riverbend Golf Course (9-hole), located between Beaverlodge and Hythe, just off Hwy 43, 2 kms south on secondary Highway 671, nestled along the Beaverlodge River, excellent greens and manicured fairways.  Clubhouse is an old railroad station fully restored, offering licensed dining & pro-shop, rentals & lessons.

Spring Lake Ski Hill features downhill and x-country skiing and snowboarding at adult & beginner slopes, electric T-bar, ski chalet on site offering a place to rest, rental equipment and light snacks.
