Hythe Volunteer Fire Department provides the following services to the citizens of Hythe and the West County of Grande Prairie.

Firefighting, Ice Rescue, High Angle Rescue, Vehicle Extrication, Swift Water Rescue,


Emergency Medical, Hazardous Material Response, Preventative Public Education.


The Hythe Volunteer Fire Department is looking for committed volunteers to work in various aspects of their operation.  Training is supplied.  Not everyone has to fight fire!  If you are interested in joining the team to serve your community.  Other areas where you can help are the following: clerical, public relations, photography, fund raising if you can help call Ken at 780-356-3114 or click below.

Hythe has 24 fire-fighter volunteers and medical co-responders (first responders). The full-line of fire-fighting equipment is readily available. The Fire Department is part of the many backup fire departments serving the County of Grande Prairie #1 area.
