Preparing for a Trip to the Landfill:
Prepare for a trip to the landfill The following tips will help ensure that your trip to the landfill is as easy as possible.

1. Prepare loose household garbage in a bag, bin or bundle.

2. Check the County of Grande Prairie website or phone the Clairmont Centre for Recycling and Waste Management for a list of acceptable wastes, and potential tipping fees for certain materials.

3. Load your vehicle with metals, wood, tires, e-waste, propane tanks, batteries, appliances and separate from household garbage. This makes off-loading less time consuming as recyclables are already separated prior to entering the landfill.

4. Tarp and secure your load to help control litter and avoid a fine and/or an unsecured load fee.

5. Go to the landfill and follow posted procedures.

6. Remember: if you are unsure of where to dump something, make sure to ask a landfill attendant.

7. County of Grande Prairie No. 1 residents require a landfill access card to the Clairmont Centre for Recycling and Waste Management to avoid tipping fees.
